Left Bank Distilled Spirits

Left Bank Straight Bourbon Whisky is the history of bourbon in a bottle. This spirit is distilled and aged on the banks of the Ohio River in Kentucky. Then it takes a winding journey by barrel on the river to New Orleans, where it is carefully married into small batches and bottled.

Left Bank Straight Bourbon Whisky is the history of Bourbon in a bottle. In the early 1800’s, merchants would buy Kentucky whisky and send it downriver to the largest city in the west – New Orleans. The journey would take two or three months and it would enhance the flavor, making it an attractive spirit to the French-speaking, cognac-drinking New Orleanians.

Left Bank recreates that very same history and craft. Our bourbon is distilled and aged at least two years on the banks of the Ohio River. We add our own blend of additional staves to the barrels before they are loaded on a barge to make their way down river. Upon arrival in New Orleans, we select and marry the barrels into very small batches (4-8 barrels) and bottle them without chill filtration.

As much as 60-80% of the flavor profile of a whisky comes directly from maturation in barrels. Selecting the right barrels, adding finishing staves, sending them on their journey down the river, carefully blending and bottling at the perfect proof is at the heart of our craft aging process. This enables us to create a great tasting whisky with the story of bourbon built into its essence.
