The Women's Guild promotes and fosters an understanding of opera, cooperating with New Orleans Opera through active fundraising and opera advocacy. With over 350 members, the Women’s Guild ensures that the gift of opera remains an integral part of New Orleans culture.
The New Orleans Opera Guild Home is located in the historic Garden District at 2504 Prytania Street. Built in 1859, this Greek Revival mansion offers guided tours, rentals, weddings & other events.
Patio Planters of the Vieux Carré

Patio Planters of the Vieux Carré (Patio Planters of the French Quarter) is a volunteer organization based in New Orleans. We are dedicated to the preservation and beautification of New Orleans’ historic French Quarter.
Since 1946, Patio Planters of the Vieux Carré has sponsored Caroling in Jackson Square, a beloved holiday tradition. This event, held every year by candlelight on the Sunday before Christmas, is always free and open to the public.
Patio Planters also makes annual contributions to various organizations, courtyards, and gardens to support the preservation and beautification of the French Quarter.
Donations and free events are made possible thanks to public support of Patio Planters’ annual fund-raising events, such as Secret Gardens of the Vieux Carré, and the Holiday Home Tour.

Preserving the Spirit of the Vieux Carré
The Foundation’s mission is to support and further the cause and constitutional charge of the Vieux Carré Commission: to preserve and to protect the invaluable historic architectural heritage of New Orleans’ French Quarter. The Foundation pursues this mission by not only providing the VCC with needed equipment and supplies, but also funding and undertaking major projects for the benefit of the VCC, which the agency is unable to pursue on its own due to its limited means.
